Specialist Maternity Services
Special Needs Babies
You can expect the nurse who will assist you to have an excellent nursing background- we at Deearna’s have qualified nurses who have all worked within special care baby units and have all a paediatric background.
Paediatric Doctor & Nurse Care
We are able to put you in contact with consultants and doctors for any concerns this information you may find on our helpful resource page.
Short Notice & Trouble-Shooting Care
Trouble-shooting consultants will either visit your home to consult over a particular concern, or consult over the phone.
We have consultants available to cover all issues of concern ie. Sleeping issues, colic, reflux, weaning, routine setting, sibling jealousy, or any other concern or worry you have, we will be able to help you with.
Twins & Multiple Births
Our experienced Twins/multiples maternity nurses will help you develop a routine to help fit around your family. She will help to establish a routine so you feed the babies at the same time (this is known as tandem nursing/ feeding). Some new mums of twins that we have spoken to have mentioned they just felt like they fed all day; with an experienced twins/multiples nurse this does not need to be the case- we will teach you how to feed at the same time so you do have some time for you.
We will help with all care associated with mum and baby; if you are deciding to breast feed we will teach you ways to feed comfortably both babies at the same time. By the time your expert has left – you can expect to have a well structured routine put in place that will be easy to follow and adapt as babies needs change.
At Deearna’s – you will always a have a back up- so if your nurse isn’t available on her time off to answer a question or to clarify something for you- pick up the phone and give us a call we are here 24 hours and will happily answer or reassure you.
Security Sensitive / Celebrity Placements
You can be assured of our full discretion at all times and all our nurses will be prepared to sign a non disclosure agreement (NDA) provided by the client and to undergo any further reasonable security checks where required.
All our nurses that are put forward for any positions have been subject to a very strict vetting screening and all will have a fully enhanced police check carried out on them. For more details on this please refer back to the Why Deearnas page.
Sibling Jealousy
Sibling jealousy doesn’t always occur but on the odd occasion bringing a second child into the home when your other child has been used to having mummy and daddy all to themselves, can be upsetting. This is where careful preparation takes place right away from when you find out you are pregnant.
You need to prepare your child to all the little things; talk about your tummy and the growing baby, preparing the nursery, buying new clothes, scan visits even down to allowing your child to rub some cream into your growing bump and feeling the kicks – all this will help prepare the older child for the new arrival.
If you would like some guidance on what you should try and do in preparation then please contact us.
We also offer a service where we will come to your home/hospital and stay with you for a couple of days to help you with your toddler and make suggestions to help you should any jealousy issue arise. We will also teach you effective ways in which your child can be a great help to you with your new baby.
